We're Moving
No, we're not moving in real life, just in blogland. Still a work in progress, but you can go ahead and point your reader or bookmarks or whatever to Sara Plays House.
Ruminations from a former Art Teacher turned Stay-At-Home Mommy of two incredible daughters, married to a fabulously geeky husband.

Cards are nice. Flowers are nicer. Diamonds are probably the nicest. There are lots of very nice things to give and receive on Mother's Day.
But I'm pretty sure the best Mother's Day gift is something I'm listening to right now. I'm listening to the baby monitor switching channels between two rooms. In one, my oldest daughter sleeps. In the second, my youngest is trying to get herself situated, all the while hiccuping.
So yes. I'm pretty sure the greatest gift a gal could get on Mother's Day is listening to her two babies, safe and warm in their cribs. And on that note, I'm going to go and rock Miss Zoe a bit.
Happy Mamas Day, y'all.

Now all you people who aren't under the Google spell can now leave comments. Although...you should have a gmail account anyway. All the cool kids are doing it. ;)

Somehow, we made it through Zoe's first ten weeks of life without a family portrait. Luckily for us, we spent Saturday evening with the Hogans and Rutledges, and Kelly was nice enough to wrangle all four of us and get a shot. So here you have it, the Complete Rylanders!
And thanks again to Kelly and Joey for hosting a most wonderful Tres de Mayo party. It was very nice to have some grown-up time(and meet adorable Desmond!). The kids were there purely for our entertainment. Aw, who am I kidding? Greg and Mike were our silly entertainment for the evening. Oh, and Joey's uber-delicious guacamole. Can't forget that. :)

We FINALLY got Avery to Zoo Atlanta on Sunday. It took us about 8 hours to get out the door, but we made it. Zoe was a complete dream the whole day, snoozing in her stroller, waking up to eat and look around and smile serenely. We really could not ask for a better baby.
Avery wasn't overly impressed with the animals. In her defense, it was kinda warm and they were all either sleepy or hiding. She was impressed with the train(2 rides) and the Carousel(3 rides). She was un-impressed with the goats in teh petting zoo. But goats are kinda shady anyway. So maybe next time we'll skip all those pesky animal exhibits and head straight for the Kid Zone. Stopping for a hot dog on the way--she was pretty fond of those too.
And Grit-Gra. Don't let me forget about him. Grit-Gra is the five foot long stuffed snake(no, not alive, Joey!) that she picked out at the gift shop. I told Mike on our way there that we'd be coming home with a new snake and I was so right. Avery named it Grit-Gra and no, I have no idea what that means or how she came up with it. But Grit-Gra is her new best buddy, currently curled up in her crib with her as she sleeps.

Tomorrow Mike will be leaving for a short business trip. Short, but far enough away that he'll be getting on a plane. This will be the first time since Zoe was born that he'll be going away overnight. It was nice to have him home every night for the last few months, but we knew it was temporary, one day he'd have to get back into the thick of things.
It should be fine, though. Bedtime will probably be a little hairy, but I'm sure we'll manage. I've become exceedingly good at multi-tasking in the last two months. We'll be heading over to the Mallorys to spend the afternoon with them. I'm sure that should be enough to sufficiently tire Avery out. And I'll take pretty much any excuse to hang out with my sister and her boys! My youngest nephew just lost BOTH his two front teeth, so you know Aunt Sara needs to get a picture of all that to share with the world.
So I'm sure it will be a fun(if harrowing) few days. I know one little girl who will be super thrilled to see her Daddy Friday morning. The littlest one will be excited too--probably give him one of her super huge grins. It's good to be the Daddy--folks are always happy to see when you get home. Nevermind the Mommy who's home with you every day, all day, and takes you to do fun things, etc. but I digress...
